District Superintendent
Chet Stevenson

District Superintendent Chet Stevenson was appointed in 2022.

"So then, let us [who minister] be regarded as servants of Christ and stewards (trustees, administrators) of the mysteries of God [that He chooses to reveal]. 2 In this case, moreover, it is required [as essential and demanded] of stewards that one be found faithful and trustworthy."

(I Corinthians 4:1-2)

Superintendent Chet Stevenson accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1989 at New Hope Church of God in Christ while stationed at Fort Drum, New York.  Hailing from Austin, Texas, he served in the military and retired from active duty as a U.S. Army First Sergeant with 20 years of service.  Early in life, Superintendent Stevenson’s leadership abilities stood out. He assumed a leadership role in his school, his church and in his community. He is currently employed with the Federal Aviation Administration, Drug Abatement Division where he serves as Manager of the Central Region with oversight over 18 states.

Superintendent Stevenson is a servant-leader who has touched the lives of many.  He is a man of great energy and has served in ministry in various states and in many capacities. His current roles include his February 2015 appointment as Chief Adjutant in Texas Northeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, National Adjutant Overseer in 2015, and National Adjutant Servant Leader in 2021.

Superintendent Stevenson definitely serves as a "man after God's own heart." His unparallel passion for the care and compassion necessary for serving God's people is unmatched. He loves to serve! As a church planter, he is the Founder and Pastor of Nehemiah Worship Center COGIC in Fort Worth, which he founded in 2013 along with his wife Evangelist Subritte Stevenson. Because God found him faithful, the Lord touched the heart of Bishop James E. Hornsby who appointed Pastor Stevenson as Superintendent of the Greater Fort Worth District in November of 2021 and later as Pastor of the Greater Progressive Church of God in Christ in March of 2022.

He holds an Associate Degree from Jefferson Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Upper Iowa University in Human Services and Psychology, Magna Cum Laude.  He is also a graduate of the C. H. Mason Systems of Bible College, with a Master Teacher Certificate.
